Foran is currently hiring for the following positions:
Project Geologist: One position -- permanent
This position involves overall project management at McIlvenna Bay. The position involves onsite management on a rotational basis with an opportunity for collaborative input into the design and implementation of the geological, geochemical and geophysical components of the program. The successful candidate will report directly the Manager, Advanced Exploration and will form a critical part of the Foran Mining Corporation exploration team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for management of the McIlvenna Bay project with the main component involving advanced stage diamond drilling. Geological, geochemical, geotechnical, metallurgical and environmental work will be concurrent.
- Supervision and scheduling of on-site employees and contractors.
- Mentoring geological and on-site staff.
- Designing and implementing modern exploration techniques and programs within Foran Mining Corporation.
Job Requirements:
- A graduate or undergraduate degree in Geology.
- Relevant exploration and project management experience. Previous advanced stage exploration or feasibility level work would be an asset.
- Good management skills with the ability to effectively supervise geologists, on-site personnel and contractors.
- Experience with mining and exploration software programs MapInfo, AutoCAD and Gemcom would be an asset.
- Database management skills and experience with drill program QA/QC components.
- Exploration experience with volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits is preferable.

Geologist: Three positions -- temporary or seasonal
The Geologist position is for on-site geological work at McIlvenna Bay on a rotational basis. This job involves but is not restricted to geological core logging, geological mapping and geochemical sampling. Involvement in the design and implementation of the geological program at McIlvenna Bay is encouraged. An opportunity to work on regional and other projects in the region is anticipated. The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Geological core logging and limited geotechnical core logging as required.
- Drill site supervision.
- Down-hole surveying (Maxibor).
- Geological mapping.
- Whole rock and soil geochemical sampling.
Job Requirements:
- A graduate or undergraduate degree in Geology.
- Relevant field experience. Diamond drill core logging experience would be an asset.
- The ability to work well with others in a remote site field camp.
- Experience with exploration software programs MapInfo and AutoCAD would be an asset.
- Exploration experience with volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits is preferable.
